Andrea Cohen Receives 2021 Home Care Champion Award

Andrea Cohen, member and Founder and Vice-Chair of HouseWorks, one of the nation’s largest independent private home care companies, will receive the 2021 Home Care Champion award by the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts. The award honors those who have advanced the image or cause of home care in Massachusetts and have demonstrated industry leadership through innovation and vision.

 

“Andrea is the very epitome of a home care champion and has been so for many years.  When private home care was just emerging as a growth industry, she led the way for bringing them into the Home Care Alliance membership,” said Pat Kelleher, executive director of Home Care Alliance of MA. “She has been a strong voice for industry standards and a leader in bringing innovation into home care in ways that enhance the family and client experience. Judy Habib Named Vice Chair of St. Jude’s Board of Governors

IWF/MA President Judy Habib was recently named vice chair of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s national board of governors. In a Boston Business Journal article, Judy reflects on her parents’ encouragement to collect money for St. Jude’s as a child. St. Jude inspired Judy’s name, as well as “a value instilled in us to give back, to be grateful, and to help those who are less fortunate,” Habib said. Now Judy leads the board of governors nationally as “St. Jude embarks on a six-year, $11.5 billion fundraising campaign to benefit both medical treatment and research.” Read more here.

Sandy was recently named one of the 2021 New Englanders of the Year for her work as Chief Executive Officer of Boston Children’s Hospital from 2013-2021. Under Sandy’s leadership, Boston Children’s Hospital was named the #1 pediatric hospital in the country by US News for eight consecutive years. Sandy will be honored in a virtual celebration alongside two other women on Oct. 18th.

Priscilla Douglas Joins American Repertory Theater’s Board of Trustees

Priscilla Douglas was just announced as a new member of the Board of Trustees at Harvard University’s American Repertory Theater. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University is a leading force in the American theater, producing groundbreaking work that is driven by risk-taking and passionate inquiry. Priscilla was among six new Trustees and five new Advisors who joined the theater’s respective boards during the 2020/21 Season.
